batty's deeeeeeead!!!

So on our 4th and final night with batty, it is with saddened hearts that we must report that his/her/it's life has come to an end. I've grown to become fond of this lil ugly creature. I would come home everyday in anticipation of seeing it hanging upside down somewhere near my skylight and on occassion wonder if it flew in my room. And now, it's dead. Just last night when my dad saw it by the plant adjacent to my room and threw an empty shoe box at it, pinning it by its leg to the floor, I heard it cry. Yes, bats cry. Poor thing. When my dad moved the box in attempts to catch it in it, it flew up near the skylight where there was a crevice for the lights surrounding the skylight. In our last attempts to make it fly out the door and into the evening sky, we tried to make it fly away by brushing it with the end of a broom. It made whimpering noises but refused to budge. So we let it be. And today, sigh, we sadly have to say that we found it floating face down in Simon's toilet. Yes, it died. How did it get there? We have no idea, but we believe that in the short time that Phil left his room door open it flew into his room then dived for the toilet. Reason for death? I think it needed water. Unfortunately, I don't think it knew how filthy my cousins' toilet was and died after drinking it.
Anyhoos, my cousin just came in to tell me, "funeral's at 6." Um, it's 8.20 already. Hahaha. Oy. But yes, we will be burying batty. He/she/it will be missed.
Moral of the story? Please people, clean your toilets regularly! ;O)

meep!

First day of work went well. I went straight to work when I reached the office this morning. It was quite good although my work hours have changed. I am now expected to stay til 6 instead of the ol' 5.30. Which usually means I won't get off til 6.30. Sigh. Oh wells. As long as I get lots of work to do I'm content.
Oh, and I've discovered that my house seems to be a haven for bats. Why? Cuz apparantly another one flew into our house sometime these past couple days. My dad went downstairs last nite and turned on a lite and up flew a bat. It wasn't too big, but hey, when it's a bat, it dun matter how big it is. It's still a brown rat with big wings. YUK! Of course it wouldn't be normal if I didn't take advantage of the fact that there was a flying rat in the house to scare my lil cousin, so I told him it flew in his room. His room door was the only one left open. HAHAHA. He wouldn't leave my other cousin's room in fear of finding the bat in his bed. Mwahaha. Eeeexcellent! We woulda tried to lure it out of the house last nite, but I was too tired and I didn't want ot be tired for my first day of work, so tonite we're goign to try to find it and get it out. Yes, we have to find ti first. It seems to have disappeared. Or maybe it was the ghost of the bat that died on our frontdoor. Hmmm....DUN DUN DUUUUN!!
