3RMB dumplings...

I think I've become a true native. By that, I mean that I find meals that cost more than 20RMB as expensive. Hehe. That's like ~$4CDN. I've found a staple joint that I think I frequent. It's this tiny lil alley restaurant that seats maybe 8 ppl only, but man the dumplings are goooood. For 3RMB u can get a steamer full of steamed dumplings or soup dumplings or what they call 'shao mai' here which is basically glutinous rice wrapped in a thin dumpling skin. Either way, paying 3 RMB for a steamer full is a great deal. Each steamer has like around 10 dumplings. That's enuf to get u pretty full. My fellow PRC study friends and I ate there today and we ordered sooo much, but only ended up paying 4RMB each. Haha. Yums!
Hmm. Oh, the most surprising thing happened last week. I was at the PRC Study office trying to straighten out some of my extra one-on-one tutoring I get on top of my courses at BLCU and I ran into Dor's bro! Haha. What a coincidence. I knew he had been in Beijing for awhile, but never knew he went through PRC as well. It was quite a surprise.
Anyhoos, I'll update more later, but so far its been lots of phun. Some crazy stories to tell about some friends I met here - i.e. ppl taking absenyth and not remembering what they did for a few hours, etc etc. Haha. But anyhoos, if I have more time, shall update more about the on-goings in Beijing! Email when you guys have time, I'd like to know what you guys are up to!
