work...
Today's work day officially ended at 10pm. Well, not exactly, subtract the hour when I went to the gym and a half hour for din din. I worked till 10, I still need to work a bit more, but decided to blog a bit. Gah! I can't believe I need to work even after I get home from work. But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.
Here is a little update about my summer internship so far. I've become chummie with all my co-workers which is great. If I didn't mesh well with them, this whole summer would have been hell. I was given the opportunity to learn about almost everything and now have some things down packed. I love my job as a legal clerk and I think that corporate law is definately something I'd like to go for. My day is comprised of meetings with clients, phone calls with clients and doing a hell of a lot of paper work.
For some odd reason my boss has this idea in his head that I'm very good at mandarin, so last week I was in meetings with him everyday with clients from Taiwan and China. I was pretty worried seeing that I was the note taker and would have to work on the file later and interact with the clients (in mandarin! gah!). So far so good I guess.
On a bad note, I think I got someone fired. The lady that was teaching me stuff before got the boot. I think cuz whenever the boss asked her for stuff, it was never done. She was suppose to plan the whole 20th anniversary celebrations for the firm, and I ended up getting crapped with anni stuff the week before the party because the boss didn't like the way she handled things. The week after the celebration she got the boot. I think the boss wanted to fire her earlier but she was the one responsible for the whole event.
After she got the boot, I was the only legal clerk working for the corporate lawyer. Luckily, a new guy came in to take my place and I took the lady's place. So now I have a slave of my own. Mwahahaha. I also have a mini slave because the boss's niece came in to help everyone out. Well, more like I think her mom didn't know what to do with her, so she came to the office everyday. So, mwahahahaha, I have 1 and a half slaves. One to push mundane jobs on and another to make me coffee and fotocopy for me. hahahaha. I'm just joking. They are all just my co-workers, not my slaves. :OP
It's so nice to be able to go out to lunch with co-workers and socialize with them as though they were friends and not aunties. haha. I never thought I'd be able to make friends with aunties. Hehe.
Anyhoos, enough blabbing about my summer job. I'll post up another blog if I feel like blogging.
