peek-a-boo

I finally fixed my icq, but I'm still going to keep myself from going online too much. Finals are coming on quickly and though I've tried to be a bookworm, I'm not very successful at it. Today UW was closed so I got up at 7 for no reason. I was suppose to write my last midterm this morning, so now I don't know what's going to happen with that. Grr. I spent most of my day studying for it yesterday too. I hope by Monday everything will be well thawed out and the road conditions back to normal. I hope none of you guys were on the road during this ice storm.
My sister wrote something interesting in her journal last week. She was talking about how certain things such as fragrances, color or what-not can trigger your senses and remind your of certain people. It's true, I guess mother nature gave us senses not to just see, hear or smell things but that there is greater use for our senses. Makes you think how beautifully well connected our mind is with our body. Now we know that it would really be impossible to build a robot that functions as well as humans. I can tell you that scents really remind me of people. I like nice smells. Just this past Wednesday when I was in my rec class waiting to write my midterm, I could distinctly smell someone's cologne/showergel/aftershave or something. I guess whoever it was must have just taken a shower or something, but that scent triggered so many memories. So there I was trying to guess if I should pick a,b,c,d, or e yet daydreaming at the same time. It was kind of neat, and I was glad that the midterm wasn't for a core course or else I certainly would not have been paying enough attention to it.
I guess scents can be very powerful. Do you guys remember the Axe commercials? Especially the one where the lady sprayed it on a mannican and started feeling it up afterwards? Well, I don't think that happens in real life, but hey, the commercial got my attention and I guess that's the whole part of advertising, right? Hehe.
Anyhoos, so that's my two cents on our 5 senses. I'm sure all of you have things that remind you of certain people. I love the smell of baby powder and baby lotion, reminds me of my cousins when they were babies. Teehee, so cute.
Okay, that's all I have to blab about, check back next week to see if I'm still alive from the aftermath of my 2 core finals.
