memories...

alright, i know that i didn't blog the last 2 days but i shall make it up with a long and blabbery blog today.
so last night i went to the yearly family din din at some fancy chinese restaurant. i hafta say, the food was only "eh~ ma ma day," but that is not what the whole din din was about. we spent most of the evening chatting about memories parents had with their kids. it was loads of phun to hear about really stupid (running into a car and splitting your tongue becuase u were chasing ur shadow) and phunnie things (being chased around by firecrackers) ur siblings and others had done. some of the greatest memories were classic. i think all of us would remember these:
~ the sticky hand that u got with ur captin crunch cereal which u would proceed to smack against the walls and anything else (it would leave a greasy mark) proceeded with yelling from any adult that noticed the greasy marks left on the wall. the phun would all end when u notice ur sticky hand which was originally white, was now grey due to all the dust and other stuff it picked up.
~ the joys of hogging the game gear
~ freezies at the corner store and bubble gum spaghetti
~ writing on the walls with "spy" markers that only you could see with a special glasses
~ nintendo
~ Larry Leisure Suit (a R rated Sierra game that apprantly any kid could get access to if they had the rite answers and had clicked "18 yrs old") and Willy Beamish (the game with the kid and his frog) - aaah...those phun games when they first introduced a new way to use computers.
okay okay....so not everyone had the same memories but they were still precious ones. it made me realize that since our generation was not introduced to the internet at a very young age, we were capable of creating priceless memories. on the other hand, the younger kids now will probably not have as much to talk about in their later years. i mean, what would they talk about? "hey, u remember when we used to go on icq and chat?" and that would basically be all the memories they would have. many kids now just sit on their bum. whatever happened to going to the park with your friends?!? aiya...i guess now a days they have other things that interest them more than fresh air.
